"“Let me tell you how happy I am to be in Montana…it’s a great state to do business, and we recommend it to anyone.” "
- Eric Schmidt, Executive Chairman of Google.
Montana is pro-business climate, recognizing the important role the state government plays in providing programs that incentivize the creation of quality jobs. The State of Montana offers a variety of tax credits and abatements, grants and low-interest financing along with technical assistance programs that are available to both new and existing businesses.
Montana’s pro-business policies led to CNBC ranking Montana #5 for the cost of doing business in their 2013 America’s Top States for Business survey, and the Tax Foundation ranking our state #7 for overall business tax climate.
Incentive programs range in purpose from providing financial assistance for promotional materials used at trade shows to conducting feasibility studies. The Montana Board of Investments In-State Loan Programs provide fixed-rate financing up to 20 or 25 years with interest rates posted weekly, and a maximum participation rate of approximately $70 million.
